This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Iqra method in improving children's understanding and reading skills of the Qur'an. The Iqra method is known as an effective approach in teaching Qur'anic recitation gradually, starting from letter recognition to the ability to read the Qur'an fluently. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental design, where the subjects are young students from several elementary schools in region Banjarmasin. Data were collected through observations, interviews with teachers, and reading tests of the Qur'an before and after the implementation of the Iqra method. The results of the study show a significant improvement in reading skills and the understanding of the Qur'anic recitation in students after the implementation of the Iqra method. This improvement is reflected in students' ability to recognize hijaiyah letters, correct pronunciation, and enhance accuracy in reading Qur'anic verses. The study concludes that the Iqra method is effective in improving children's reading skills and understanding of the Qur'an, and can serve as a good alternative for teaching Qur'anic reading in elementary schools
