The transformation of Quranic interpretation methods from the classical to the contemporary era reflects the evolution of understanding Islamic teachings in the context of ever-changing social, cultural, and temporal dynamics. Classical tafsir methods, which were predominantly based on textual and literal interpretations of the Quranic verses, have evolved into various approaches that are more contextual and multidimensional in the contemporary era. This includes the integration of social sciences, natural sciences, and philosophy to interpret sacred texts, addressing modern challenges such as pluralism, human rights, and social change. Through this more dynamic understanding of tafsir, Quranic teachings can be implemented in daily life in ways that are both relevant and beneficial for Muslims across different eras. This article aims to explore the role of the transformation of tafsir methods in the continued applicability of Islamic teachings in modern contexts.
