Abstract

This study aims to examine the opportunities, ethical concerns, and future directions of Human-AI Collaboration in Islamic Education. The study employed a qualitative library research approach through a systematic review and synthesis of scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, policy reports, and international guidelines. The data were analyzed using thematic content analysis to identify major trends, challenges, and conceptual developments within the field. The findings indicate that Human-AI Collaboration holds significant potential for enhancing learning effectiveness, expanding educational access, and fostering pedagogical innovation in Islamic educational institutions. However, the successful integration of AI requires robust ethical governance, AI literacy, and continuous human oversight to ensure that technological applications remain aligned with the objectives of Islamic education. The study also finds that the framework of Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah provides a relevant ethical foundation for evaluating and guiding AI implementation by emphasizing the preservation of intellect, human dignity, and public welfare. The novelty of this study lies in the development of an integrative framework that combines Human-AI Collaboration theory, Islamic educational philosophy, and AI ethics into a comprehensive model for the responsible adoption of AI in Islamic education. The study concludes that AI should function as a complementary partner that strengthens, rather than replaces, the intellectual, moral, and spiritual roles of educators
