The Utilization of Information and Communication Technology in Islamic Religious Education Learning at State Elementary School Manarap Tengah 2, Banjar Regency

This study aims to describe the utilization of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning at State Elementary School Manarap Tengah 2, Banjar Regency, identify the challenges faced by teachers and the strategies employed to overcome them, and analyze the impact of ICT integration on the learning process. This research employed a qualitative field research approach. The participants consisted of the fifth-grade Islamic Religious Education teacher and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that ICT utilization, including laptops, LCD projectors, PowerPoint presentations, educational videos, and internet resources, enhances students’ enthusiasm, participation, motivation, and understanding of learning materials. However, limited facilities, unstable internet connectivity, insufficient technical skills, and time constraints remain significant challenges. Teachers address these challenges through independent learning, advance preparation of teaching materials, and alternative instructional media. The novelty of this study lies in its contextual examination of ICT integration in elementary-level Islamic Religious Education in a local school setting, highlighting the interaction between technological resources, pedagogical adaptation, and students’ learning engagement.
