Peran Guru Sebagai Motivator dalam Meningkatkan Minat Belajar Siswa Kelas VI di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Hidayatussibyan Kabupaten Kapuas
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the implementation of the teacher’s role as a motivator in fostering the learning interest of sixth-grade students at Hidayatussibyan Islamic Elementary School, Kapuas Regency, to describe the process through which students’ learning interest is developed through the implementation of this role, and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its implementation. This study employed a qualitative approach using field research. The research subjects consisted of the principal, the sixth-grade homeroom teacher, and six sixth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the teacher performed the role of a motivator by providing advice, encouraging students to learn, giving praise, and offering rewards. In addition, the teacher adopted a personal approach, provided motivational encouragement before the learning process began, and actively involved students in classroom activities. The supporting factors for implementing the teacher’s motivational role included support from the school, positive relationships between teachers and students, and the strong learning enthusiasm demonstrated by some students. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors included the lack of attention among some students, the influence of the peer environment, and low intrinsic learning motivation. The findings indicate that the teacher’s role as a motivator makes a significant contribution to fostering students’ learning interest at Hidayatussibyan Islamic Elementary School, Kapuas Regency
