Abstract

Asbabun Nuzul is a study that reveals the relationship between the text of the Koran and the historical context that influences it. This research aims to explore how asbabun nuzul opens the door to in-depth knowledge about the relationship between the text of the Koran and its historical reality. The research method used is historical and literary analysis of various histories that describe the conditions and events underlying the revelation of the verses of the Qur'an. This study highlights the importance of understanding the historical context in interpreting the Qur'an, thereby avoiding erroneous or limited interpretations. Asbabun nuzul helps describe the social, political and cultural situation at the time the verses of the Qur'an were revealed, which in turn leads to a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the teachings of the Qur'an. By deepening understanding of asbabun nuzul, this research contributes to the development of a more holistic and contextual science of the Qur'an.
