This study aims to provide an analysis of the strategy for implementing Islamic Religious Education learning that intersects with the independent curriculum. This study conducted an analysis at SMAN 1 Sangatta Utara which applies the independent curriculum system to the subject of Islamic Religious Education. To find the results, this study used a qualitative descriptive research type and field studies. The data to be studied were collected by conducting in-depth observations and interviews. After drawing conclusions, the study showed that SMA Negeri 1 Sangatta Utara had implemented the independent curriculum in teaching and learning activities at school, including in the subject of Islamic Religious Education. By implementing the inquiry method which aims to ensure that learning activities can emphasize students' curiosity so that they are able to search and investigate regularly and well what they will learn.
